Pammie's Wedding Weekend

The weekend of Pam's wedding (and Easter) was chock full of plans... So of course, Thursday night before, when Becky and Aaron had already arrived, we were up most of the night with a sick Sawyer.  I got maybe an hour and a half of sleep between 2am and 8am - rough.  He was a little stuffy and was running a fever, so we couldn't send him to daycare as I'd planned, and I was worried about Amanda staying the night with him Friday night, also previously planned.  He is such a great sleeper and has the easiest schedule and hasn't been sick in so long - I couldn't believe it happened on Pam's wedding weekend.  Luckily, Jeremy was able to stay home from work to keep S, and sweet Lolly and Pops dropped everything and came to Austin a day early so we could keep our plans for Friday afternoon.  We are spoiled by all the grandparents!

While Jeremy was on duty, Becky, Aaron, Sarah, Hyunh and I went to get mani/pedis (the boys just watched), and then we headed to the rehearsal at Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs.  It was a gorgeous day, so after the rehearsal a group of us headed to the Salt Lick for lunch, and Jeremy was able to meet us out there right when the food arrived.  {Sidenote: We realized we hadn't been to the Salt Lick in nearly 7 years - we.are.so.old!}

 After as much BBQ, beans, cole slaw, and cobbler we could eat, we went to the ranch Pam and Jason rented for the weekend to play and get ready for the rehearsal dinner.  The boys played disc golf and swam in the pool, while us ladies took our time getting ready for dinner.

The rehearsal dinner was back out in Driftwood near the Salt Lick, at Trattoria Lisina at the Madola Estate Winery.  I have just fallen in love with the quicker restaurant version, Mandola's Italian Kitchen, near our house so I was excited about the food and wine, and it did not disappoint.  We had a blast - I always think rehearsal dinners are so fun, because it's like your wedding but more intimate and casual.  Pam and Jason put together a sweet slideshow of pictures, recognized some of the wedding party and handed out gifts before we chatted more over wine and went back to the ranch for the night.

The boys + Sarah opted for the hot tub, but Becky and I were beat, so we relaxed in our room.  Thursday night really caught up with me and I got a great night sleep Friday night, thankfully.  (And Sawyer slept great for his Lolly and Pops too!)

Saturday was busy!  We had a lot to do!  We packed up and Jeremy headed home from the ranch, and I went with Pam and Mary, another bridesmaid, to the salon in Dripping Springs to get all gussied up.  (We went to Sophie's Garden, and I loved my girl Elly if anyone needs a recommendation!)

Caroline, the photographer, and the other bridesmaids met us up there as our hair and makeup finished up.  We force-fed Pam some protein and off to Camp Lucy we went for pictures!  I snapped the most gorgeous picture of Pam before we left...

Camp Lucy had the cutest bridal cottage for us to get dressed and ready in, filled with drinks and flowers and a clawfoot tub!  First, the bridesmaid dresses...

And then time for the bride!

Pam's dress and veil were truly stunning!  She wore a new and blue necklace, an old penny in her shoe from the year her mom was born, and borrowed a blue ring from me - I was happy to contribute!  Pam and Jason did a first look in the chapel, and apparently it was incredibly sweet as they exchanged gifts.  We took a few group shots and then hid back in the cottage as guests arrived.

And then it was time!  It was such a windy day, so Pam's veil had a rough time staying put - Adrienne took care of business though... by keeping her heel on that veil!

The ceremony was the perfect length and it all went well.  One of the sweetest parts was the officiant, Jason's hometown minister/family friend, thanked them for allowing him to be part of their day and said he would remember it forever.  Once the ceremony was over, Pam really relaxed and it was so nice to see her and Jason just enjoy their evening.  We took some pictures in a nearby field, and then were released from picture duty and enjoyed cocktails and appetizers and lawn games as the sun was setting.  We ate a wonderful dinner - steak, chicken, mac & cheese, veggies, veggies lasagna, and my very favorite thing from the night - a mashed potato cocktail bar!  They served mashed and mashed sweet potatoes in martini glasses with any kind of topping you could imagine.  I went with sweet potatoes topped with roasted nuts, cinnamon sugar and marshmallows.  We enjoyed sweet toasts and then danced the rest of the night away!

We ended the night by sending Pam and Jason off with an arc of sparklers (which made me slightly nervous due to all the Texas forest fires lately).  I can't wait to see the professional pics from Caroline!  Here are a couple teasers I stole off her facebook page (sorry!)...

I love you, Pam - so honored to be part of your big day!
