Family Mini-Vacation

In the middle of soccer (Sawyer and the Dynamo) and football (UT) season, we took one night and went to the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort near Bastrop, just the three of us.  After 6 years in consulting, Jeremy took another job in October, switching careers completely to working in the planning group of a midstream energy company.  So we went to Lost Pines for a very mini-vacation to celebrate.

We got there in time to enjoy the pool before a cold front blew in, and it was great.  I loved the lazy river, and it was relatively easy to do with Sawyer.  Sawyer loved the water slide so much - he had the best time!  We played in the beach area then ordered some snacks and drinks to enjoy poolside right as the wind started up.  We went back to the room to get ready for dinner, ate, then we treated Sawyer to s'mores outside.  It had gotten pretty cool but it was so fun!  I was very impressed with how organized Hyatt's s'more process is.  We walked around a lake for a minute then headed back for bed - well, bed for Sawyer, and mom and dad got to rent a movie!  Sunday morning we had breakfast, walked around the property some more, and took some pictures with a longhorn who Sawyer would only call Bevo.

It rained all night, so between the mud, the cool temperatures, and Sawyer not really being old enough to do many of the activities, we headed out early in the day.  It was still a fun night and memory for us!  We can't wait to go back and enjoy the pool again next summer.
