While Sawyer has been making some strides in the "big boy" department (well, not physical strides...but getting so close!), we've had another round of changes in our home. In March Jeremy and I both changed jobs and where we were working in town. Jeremy is now a managing consultant with a new firm his boss left to start, and they're sharing a unique office space in west Austin. That same week Jeremy started with this new firm was my last week of work as an office manager at a structural engineering firm downtown. I took a fun week off, and I am now back at work as a regulatory specialist for an oil and gas company in Austin, also located out west about a mile from Jeremy's office. I am thrilled to have found a job in what my experience is in and in Austin, no less. And our commute in the mornings and evenings isn't too bad either - instead of sitting on Mopac for 40 minutes, we get to cruise through the hills and see lots of green and pretty homes. I've even seen deer twice on my way in to work. There's always an awkward transitional phase with big changes like this, but I think we're both pretty happy with our decisions.
Sawyer has also made a change - he has officially transitioned into a toddler class at school. In a nutshell that means no bottles, no baby food, no pacifiers, and napping on the floor instead of in a crib. Again, there is always an awkward transitional phase, but Sawyer is doing great with his sippy cup and eating table food and is having a lot of fun in his new class. It has made our mornings easier - before we were preparing 3 bottles of formula plus packing baby food and snacks each day, and now we just take one sippy cup for the day and he's set. Jeremy, who has the morning shift, seems pretty happy!
More updates soon about Sawyer's 12th month and his birthday party!
