My First Mother's Day

I had a wonderful first Mother's Day! It's hard to believe a year ago we weren't pregnant, I was just starting a new job, and we celebrated by having our moms over to our house for brunch. What a difference a year makes! :)

Saturday afternoon my mom treated me to a mother/daughter pedicure. Much needed and well deserved for both of us! It was so nice, and it was also kind of nice to get a break from being home...Mr. Sawyer gave me a little trouble the last couple days. Saturday night we picked up dinner and went over to Lolly and Pop's house. Again, it was nice to get out of our house, even if we were just at another house. And Sawyer was a complete angel! He slept while we ate then was cute cute cute so Lolly and Pop could enjoy playing with him. That night we put him down around 12:30 or 1am and he slept until 7:30am! I couldn't believe it!

Sunday for lunch we went to my mom's where my sister cooked and I brought dessert for us. Again, Sawyer was an angel. He slept the entire time between feedings. Aunt Amanda got to spend some good quality time with him - she'd only seen him at the hospital right after he was born and then once when she was home for Easter and she just held him while he slept. She got to feed him a bottle and got lots of cuddles. After lunch we stopped by my dad's house and Sawyer was really alert and being so funny, smiling and talking at the lights and fan. We ran by our house to make a couple extra bottles and then we met some friends for dinner in town at Empire Cafe. Afterwards we saw our friend's new apartment, and Sawyer stuck with us the whole time. He slept a lot and only started fussing right at the end. It was nice to go out with friends and to have a well behaved baby...we almost felt like our life was normal again! It was a great day and Sawyer made it wonderful!

The card on my flowers from Sawyer. It reads "Happy Mothers Day, Mom! Thanks for hanging out with me all day and letting me watch TV at 4am! Can we have tummy time now? Love, Sawyer" Isn't he precious?
This was a popular First Mother's Day card choice - I got it from Jeremy, my mom and sister!

My dad got me 'Sawyer' wine. Perfect gift for a new mom, yes? :)

All my goodies!
And I can't do a mother's day post without pictures of my baby!
