This is heavenly!

First, thanks to all our friends and family's sweet words regarding Baby H. I love that it's not a "secret" anymore!

Once Jeremy figures out how to install our printer/scanner software, or that doesn't work and we buy a new one, I'll try to scan Baby H.'s first pictures. They always turn out blurrier than we saw on the screen, but it's okay.

At almost 9 weeks along, I am feeling some typical symptoms. I'm nauseous all day, especially at night and in the morning. I got a prescription for this, though it has another not-so-fun side effect, and it helps sometimes. I still haven't found that comfort food that makes me feel better, but hopefully only a couple more weeks of this. Also, around 3pm, I get exhausted. Obviously I have been tired before, but you don't know exhausted until you're growing a little person! It's all I can do to hold my head up until the end of work - not to mention, I've had to work late every day this week and that is killer.

This leads me to what is heavenly, per my post title. Jeremy works until at least 8 or 9 each night, so if I were to grocery shop I would be alone in shopping and unloading. The thought of doing that after working is unimaginable. I literally could not do it. But I haven't shopped since before Jeremy's birthday (don't judge!) and all I have to eat for breakfast are some lingering toaster strudels. Not having food at home and not having the energy to get out was seriously stressing me out. Last night at work, I google-d "Houston grocery delivery" just to see what was out there. Right around when my little brother was born (1997) I remember my parents using Randall's Peapod service. As it turns out, Rice Epicurean offers online grocery shopping and in-store pick-up or home delivery! Praise the Lord!

The one near the Galleria delivers to our zip code, and I can't say enough about their online store. It is very easy to navigate, easy to find everything you would want, even fresh produce! My grocery list doesn't change much, so it was very simple for me to select all the items and brands I would normally buy. I've never shopped at Rice Epicurean, so I was worried I would have to get all expensive brands, like at Central Market, but they had mostly everything. It was even easier than being in the store because I could plan out dinners easily (and by dinners I mean sandwich fixings, frozen pizza, and some chicken to make a casserole) and add the required ingredients. Plus, as a first time customer, I got free delivery! It took me about 15-20 minutes total to order my groceries last night, they're being delivered tonight and it's costing me the same as walking around our Kroger for an hour.

It sounds like a little thing, but this took so much stress away from me! With just clicks of the mouse, I'll be able to have all the healthy food I need at home so we won't have to keep ordering out. I am thrilled beyond belief! Hopefully the delivery goes well tonight and I won't need to retract this entire post!

  1. I've thought about doing this before. May have to check into it. Don't feel bad, I haven't grocery shopped since the end of July. Can't wait til this trimester is OVER!!
