I have ultrasound pictures from 2 previous visits, but our home scanner isn't working, and there isn't much to see anyway. Today I went in for a visit (at 11 weeks, 2 days) and I wasn't expecting an exciting appointment. (Don't get me wrong - growing a baby is a miracle and I am completely in awe of this miracle, but you don't see much in the early ultrasounds.) Jeremy had a doctor's appointment for himself scheduled around the same time, and I wasn't even worried to go to this one alone. First they told me they wouldn't be able to listen to the heartbeat because the baby is probably still too small (bummer). So they got me into an ultrasound room and I saw the most amazing thing on the screen.
A real baby!!!!!!!!!!! Moving around, wiggling its hands, shaking its rump. It looked HUGE! I swear, there is no more room left to grow in there...yet I know there's so much more growing to do! Baby H (aka Tad, short for Tadpole Hamblen) is measuring big, 11 weeks and 5 days, but I suppose that doesn't mean much now. What a cutie patootie! I'm so biased already!
We'll go back on October 16 for THE ultrasound (depending on Tad's utmost cooperation).
I hope its a girl! Then we could have little girlie playdates!! Since obviously my opinion matters in the sex of your baby. :)
ReplyDeleteAwwww what a cute little peanut :)
ReplyDeleteSo fun that y'all find out next month. My doctor doesn't do THE ultrasound until 18-20 weeks. I keep asking Nick if we can pay and have one done earlier, and he keeps saying no. Oh well. How you feeling these days?
