On his actual birthday he had a little party at school with some cupcakes and a gift from his teachers. That night Jeremy, my mom and I took Sawyer for a special dinner at the Aquarium downtown! He loves that place and talks about it for weeks after we go, and since we were getting ready to move away from that area, it seemed like the perfect spot to celebrate. We had a great dinner and Sawyer got a special shark dessert!
Two days after his birthday we closed on our new house! What an exciting week! It was the easiest closing, if not a little sad we couldn't move in right away.
Easter weekend Jeremy was busy with a project, so we weren't able to travel to Arkansas for our niece's first birthday. I did get busy packing and I was also able to attend my high school cotilion's debutante ball, which was very close to our house. It was so fun to have a few hours out with my mom, to be all dressed up, and to see all the beautiful senior girls. (What an exciting time in their lives - finishing school, getting ready for college, ball gowns and updos!) We missed Jeremy on Easter Sunday also, and the house was too torn apart for an egg hunt, but Sawyer still got more treats and a sugar high.
The weekend before we moved we had a giant garage sale. It was great, and we got rid of so much stuff! Then my reward was having a last minute dinner with Becky, in town from Dallas, at my favorite restaurant in the Heights! (She is pregnant and due in July!!)
Other than all those fun things in March and April, we did a lot of packing, moving, shopping and more packing.
yay! so glad to see a blog post. can't wait to see pics of your new house!
