We started the month by heading to Austin for the first UT football game! We drove up Saturday morning, checked into our hotel and ate a quick lunch at the restaurant there. (A benefit to waiting until the last minute to decide to go - we
had to book at a nice hotel because we had very few choices!)
Jeremy and his parents went to the game, and I took Sawyer to Carrie's house to have dinner and hang out with Carrie and Sam and their kiddos. I had such a great time! It was so fun seeing Sawyer interact with older boys (Davis is 6 months older, and Porter is a year older) and babies (Mary Mae is 1 and Holden was 8 or so months old). The kids were very good playing together, and gave us mamas time to eat and talk. Sawyer and I headed back to the hotel so I could get him to bed, and then I had some quiet time to read until Jeremy and his parents got back. Sawyer slept great at the hotel and then we got up and had an early lunch before heading home. It wasn't a long trip, but it was so wonderful and gave me lots of hope for traveling with Sawyer again!
The second weekend in September Jeremy and I got to make another last-minute trip to Austin for the New Mexico game. Jeremy's parents kindly stayed in Houston to keep Sawyer and gave us their tickets to the game. We booked a great hotel in downtown Austin (thanks, Priceline - the night before!) and had the most fun evening. A cool front had come in, so the weather was fantastic, which made the game very enjoyable. We took pedi-cabs to and from the stadium, and had a late night dinner at Frank then walked back to our hotel. It was so fun! I can't believe we were so lucky to have 2 weeks in a row of fun in Austin like that.

The third weekend in September was my 10-year high school reunion. How has it been that long?! Our class officers did an awesome job of planning it - it was at a bar very close to our house from 5 to 7pm. I had a lot of fun catching up with everyone. Even with Facebook, I still caught up with a lot of old friends and had a blast!
I also got to take a quick work trip to New Orleans for some meetings, but my co-worker and I made time for this...

And of course, we spend a few afternoons at the Houston Zoo and riding the train around Hermann Park. Sawyer's new favorite thing is riding the carousel in the zoo, which he can't quite pronounce yet, so it calls it the "carumbel."
